Carbon Credit Auction - BM&FBOVESPA Discloses Minimum Bid Price: €14.20 Per Ton

BM&FBOVESPA has disclosed the minimum bid price for the sale of Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) – also known as carbon credits -, held by the São Paulo Municipal Government: €14.20 per ton. The auction will take place tomorrow, September 25th. A total amount of 713,000 CERs will be auctioned in a single lot under the terms of the Clean Development Mechanism – 454.343 CERs from the Bandeirantes landfill Energy Project and 258.657 CERs from São João landfill Energy Project.

SEC Charges California Investment Adviser With Committing Fraud While Recommending Hedge Fund To Investors

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a San Luis Obispo, Calif.-based investment adviser and its owner with fraud for failing to disclose a material conflict of interest when recommending that their clients invest in a hedge fund that made undisclosed subprime and other high-risk investments.
