SEC Reopens Comment Period On Proposal For Model Privacy Form Under Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that it has reopened the public comment period on a proposal for a model privacy form that financial institutions could use to provide disclosures required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). The Commission is reopening the comment period in order to solicit public comment on the results of recent quantitative consumer testing conducted to evaluate the form.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it charged Stuart W. Jones, Payton Lowe, and WeCorp, Inc. (WeCorp), all of Hilo and Honolulu, Hawaii, with soliciting approximately $1.5 million from more than 20 people to trade off-exchange foreign currency (forex) contracts, but instead used the money to lease a lavish Honolulu home, luxurious cars, and other purchases.
CME Group Announces The Launch Of New Electricity Swap Futures Contracts

CME Group Inc., the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange, today announced eight new electricity swap futures contracts, scheduled to begin trading on April 26 for trade date April 27. These contracts are listed with, and subject to, the rules and regulations of NYMEX. They will be available through CME ClearPort®, a set of flexible clearing services open to OTC market participants to substantially mitigate counterparty risk and provide capital efficiencies across asset classes.

Record Russian IOB Derivative Trading Volumes Complete Twelve Months Of Growth For EDX London

A record 2.6 million contracts were traded on the EDX London IOB derivatives service during March 2009, with open interest reaching over 8.5 million contracts for the first time since the launch of the service in December 2006. The total notional value traded on the service during the month was $2.5 billion, and trading in Russian and other IOB derivatives accounted for 45 per cent of all volumes traded on EDX London during March.
