Shenzhen Stock Exchange: Investors Of The New Market To Open Trading Accounts Under Guidance By Brokers

On August 19, the Securities Association of China and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange made the joint statement, requiring that securities companies should reasonably arrange, orderly guide the investors with the intention to participate in the New Market in compliance with the appropriateness requirements, to open trading account as early as possible, while continuously accomplishing the investor education and risk reminder.

SEC, CFTC To Hold Joint Meetings On Regulation Harmonization

The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that the two regulatory agencies will hold joint meetings to seek input from the public on harmonization of market regulation. President Barack Obama in June called on the two regulators to recommend changes to statutes and regulations that would eliminate differences with respect to similar types of financial instruments.

Landmark $1Billion USD Of London Metal Exchange Steel Billet Futures Traded By Industry Since Launch Last Year

The London Metal Exchange (LME) announces that $1 billion USD in steel billet has been traded on the Exchange by industry since the contract was introduced in February 2008. This equates to more than 2.2 million tonnes of steel billet in physical material.
