The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today approved for publication in the Federal Register a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that calls for the collection of certain ownership, control and other information for all trading accounts active on U.S. futures exchanges and other reporting entities. At the end of the settlement date of June 30, 2010, short interest in 2,417 NASDAQ Global Market(SM)securities totaled 7,040,374,238 shares compared with 7,025,957,987 in 2,421 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of June 15, 2010. The end-of-June short interest represents 3.67 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 3.01 days for the prior reporting period.

Chief Information Officer Charles Boucher To Leave SEC

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Charles Boucher has decided to leave the agency after serving as its Chief Information Officer (CIO) since 2008. His plans include not-for-profit work and completion of studies in preparation for ordination as a Deacon in his church next spring.
