During 2010 the Panama Stock Exchange (BVP) total trading volume was U.S. $ 2,639,1 million, an increase of 61.35% compared to U.S. $ 1,635,6 million traded in 2009. The amount traded in 2010 was the highest trading volume in the BVP 20 years life.

The European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) ended the year 2010 with an increase in the volumes traded in all commodities. The trading volume for power increased to 1,487 TWh, which corresponds to a 21-percent increase as against the previous year (1,228 TWh).

Securities Commission Malaysia: Two Directors Jailed And Fined Over Suremax Share Manipulation

The Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court today sentenced Datuk Phillip Wong Chee Kheong and Francis Bun Lit Chun to 24 months imprisonment and a fine of RM 3 million (in default 6 months imprisonment ) and 3 months imprisonment and a fine of RM2 million (in default 6 months imprisonment) respectively for their involvement in the manipulation of Suremax Group Berhad (Suremax) shares.

LCH.Clearnet Fixed Income Volumes Increase By 28% YOY - Growth Fuelled By Increased Demand: 19 New Participants Sign Up

The nominal value of European government bond and repo trades cleared by the LCH.Clearnet group (LCH.Clearnet) in 2010 increased by 28% year on year, a record fuelled by increased demand as banks seek to manage their counterparty risk exposures. 19 new participants signed up to clear their fixed income business through LCH.Clearnet, taking the total to 70 and resulting in an increased proportion of inter-bank repo trades being cleared.

Eurex To Launch Equity Options With Weekly Expirations For The First Time - Launch Set For 24 January 2011

The international derivatives exchange Eurex will introduce equity options with weekly expiration dates on 24 January 2011. This is the first time that weekly options on individual stocks will be available on Eurex. The Eurex Weekly Equity Options will be listed as separate contracts and will initially comprise derivatives based on shares of Daimler, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom and Nokia (four per underlying stock).

The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Encik Zainal Izlan Zainal Abidin as Executive Director with effect from 12 January 2011.
