BM&FBOVESPA Stock Options Exercise Totals BRL 3.77 Billion

BM&FBOVESPA announced Monday that the day’s stock options exercise in the Bovespa segment totaled BRL 3.77billion, of which BRL 3 billion in call options and BRL 773.8 million in put options. BM&FBOVESPA Offers More Mobile Solutions With The Launch Of New Iphone And Android Platform Apps - Launches Complete The Exchange’s Presence In Mobile Equipment, With Apps For Smartphones And Tablets - Including Samsung’s Galaxy Tab

As of Monday, the Exchange is making available the free download of BM&FBOVESPA apps for iPhone and for the Android platform – the Google operating system that provides guidelines for Samsung’s Galaxy tab. The free apps provide information about the Exchange’s markets, with indices in real time, equity prices, commodities, futures markets, graphs, and news about BM&FBOVESPA, among other functions.

EDHEC-Risk Institute: Ground-Breaking Research Shows That Large Private Equity Firms Underperform Small Firms

Newly-released research by Florencio Lopez-de-Silanes of EDHEC Business School with co-authors Ludovic Phalippou and Oliver Gottschalg, entitled “Giants at the Gate: On the Cross-Section of Private Equity Investment Returns,” examines the determinants of private equity (PE) returns using a newly constructed database of 7,500 investments worldwide over forty years. The dataset is, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, the largest panel of worldwide PE (buyout) investment performance. <

Following a volatile year, exchanges closed in December experiencing an increase in their share prices across the board, according to the FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index. However, the Index was down overall in Q4 (October to December) 2010 falling to 9.9 per cent, from 12.8 per cent in Q3 (July to September) 2010.

Today EDX London, London Stock Exchange Group's (LSEG) international derivatives market has gone live with dividend futures on six Russian International Order Book (IOB) underlyings. This is the first time Russian dividend futures will be traded on exchange.

NYSE Liffe Commodity Derivatives Record-Breaking Performance - 2010 Highlights

NYSE Liffe’s Commodity Derivatives trading volumes reached new highs in 2010, experiencing double digit growth both in futures and options. Annual volume grew by 37% year on year, reaching a new record of 16,679,006 contracts against 2008’s volume of 13,245,517 contracts.
