NASDAQ Announces Mid-Month Open Short Interest Positions In NASDAQ Stocks As Of Settlement Date April 15, 2013

At the end of the settlement date of April 15, 2013, short interest in 2,120 NASDAQ Global MarketSM securities totaled 7,248,543,308 shares compared with 7,144,598,516 shares in 2,120 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of March 28, 2013. The mid-April short interest represents 4.84 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.34 days for the prior reporting period.

Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Gary Gensler today announced that Office of International Affairs (OIA) Director Jacqueline H. Mesa is leaving the agency for other pursuits. Chairman Gensler also announced that current Division of Clearing and Risk Deputy Director Sarah E. Josephson will take over immediately following Ms. Mesa’s departure. Both changes will take place on May 10.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announces that on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, the CFTC’s Technology Advisory Committee (the “TAC” or “Committee”) will hold a public meeting at the Commission’s headquarters in Washington, DC from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The meeting will focus primarily on issues related to swap data reporting. It will also include updates on the implementation of an industry-led technology solution to protect customer funds, and compliance with certain requirements imposed under Part 1 of the Commission’s Regulations.
