  • Eris SOFR Sets Volume Record With First $100B Notional Month; Cut Swap Spread Margin By 83%

    24.5K volume sets quarterly record

    • June capped a record quarter for Eris SOFR and Eris Options, with quarterly volume reaching 24,466 contracts, up 9% from the previous record (Q1 2026), and up 29% from Q2 last year
    • Monthly ADV of 49,888 contracts also set a new record, besting the previous record (March, 44,863) by 11%, with total volume surpassing one million contracts ($100 billion notional) for the first time in history
    • Eris Options made a confident debut June 15, with total volume of 1,707 contracts across 2-, 5-, and 10-year tenors since launch
    • July 8 featured the first ever Eris SOFR “royal flush,” with trades recorded in every actively-quoted tenor on the swap curve from 1-year to 30-years (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 15, 30)
    • 30-year trades: July has also seen multiple trades in 30-year Eris SOFR, including 210 contracts ($21mm notional) the morning of July 16, as hedgers seek the margin savings of swap futures at longer tenors

  • The EBA Publishes Its Final Draft Technical Standards On Material Acquisitions, Material Transfers, Mergers And Divisions Under The Capital Requirements Directive

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) today published its final draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) and Implementing Technical Standards (ITSs) on material acquisitions, transfers of assets or liabilities, mergers and divisions involving credit institutions or (mixed) financial holding companies under the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD). The standards aim to support banking consolidation and deepen EU market integration by clarifying supervisory expectations, reducing regulatory uncertainty, and promoting a consistent prudential assessment framework across the European Union.

    Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is pleased to announce today (Friday) that its wholly-owned subsidiary, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK), has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) to deepen collaboration and information exchange under Stock Connect, supporting the continued development of this pioneering mutual market access programme.

  • The EBA Consults On Amendments To Data Collection For The 2027 Market Risk Benchmarking Exercise

    The European Banking Authority (EBA) today launched a consultation on amendments to the Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) governing the benchmarking of internal models and the standardised approach for market risk for the 2027 exercise. The proposed amendments aim to ensure that the benchmarking framework remains aligned with the evolving regulatory framework, while providing institutions and supervisors with adequate time to prepare for the implementation of the upcoming market risk requirements. This consultation runs until 3 September 2026.
