SEC Announces Fraud Charges In Cross-Border Scheme To Secretly Control And Manipulate Stock Of Chinese Companies After Reverse Mergers

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced fraud charges against a Wall Street CEO and his company, family members, and business associates accused of secretly obtaining control and manipulating the stock of Chinese companies they were purportedly guiding through the process of raising capital and becoming publicly-traded in the United States.

EBA Issues Revised List Of ITS Validation Rules

The European Banking Authority (EBA) issued today a revised list of validation rules in its Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on supervisory reporting, highlighting those which have been deactivated either for incorrectness or for triggering IT problems. Competent Authorities throughout the EU are informed that data submitted in accordance with these ITS should not be formally validated against the set of deactivated rules.

SEC: Robert Cohen And Joseph Sansone Named Market Abuse Unit Co-Chiefs

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that Robert Cohen and Joseph Sansone have been named co-chiefs of the Division of Enforcement’s Market Abuse Unit, a national specialized unit that focuses on complex insider trading rings and other abusive trading schemes and misconduct. The two have served as the unit’s acting co-chiefs since the departure last month of Daniel Hawke, its inaugural chief.

Trading Of Shares On Bucharest Stock Exchange Will Be Executed According To A New Tick Size Rules As Of September 21

Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) introduces as of September 21, 2015, new tick size rules for all shares, rights and fund units traded on BVB. The changes regarding the new tick size envisage raising the trading price ranges compared to the current ones. This change settles the ground for a better concentration of orders by price levels, improved process of price discovery and a more efficient dynamics of the order book.

CFTC Approves Final Regulation Requiring All Registered Introducing Brokers And Commodity Pool Operators, And Certain Registered Commodity Trading Advisors To Be Members Of A Registered Futures Association

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Commission) today issued a final rule, new Commission regulation 170.17, requiring that all registered introducing brokers and commodity pool operators, and certain commodity trading advisors (CTAs) become and remain members of a registered futures association (RFA). All persons subject to the final rule must comply by December 31, 2015.
