Japan's Securities And Exchange Surveillance Commission: Recommendation For Administrative Action based On Findings Of The Inspection Of Credit Suisse Securities (Japan) Limited

1. Contents of the recommendation
Pursuant to Article 20, paragraph (1) of the Act for the Establishment of the Financial Services Agency (FSA), the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission (SESC) issued today a recommendation that the prime minister and the commissioner of the FSA take administrative action against Credit Suisse Securities (Japan) Limited (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"). This recommendation is based on the findings of an inspection of the Company, whereby the following violations by the Company of the law and the ordinance described in 2 below were identified.

Michael Saunders Appointed To The UK Monetary Policy Committee

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has announced the appointment of Michael Saunders as an external member of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). Michael will be appointed for a three year term which will take effect from 9 August 2016.

SEC Solicits Public Comment On Business And Financial Disclosure Requirements In Regulation S-K

The Securities and Exchange Commission voted on April 13 to publish a concept release discussing and seeking public comment on modernizing certain business and financial disclosure requirements in Regulation S-K. The Commission is interested in receiving input on whether the disclosure requirements continue to elicit the information that investors need for investment and voting decisions and how registrants can most effectively present the information. The Commission is also seeking comment on the costs and benefits of the disclosure requirements for companies and investors.
