SEC Issues $20 Million Whistleblower Award

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced an award of more than $20 million to a whistleblower who promptly came forward with valuable information that enabled the SEC to move quickly and initiate an enforcement action against wrongdoers before they could squander the money.

EBA: Consultation On ITS Amending Implementing Regulation (EU) No 680/2014 With Regard To Operational Risk And Sovereign Exposures (EBA-CP-2016-20)

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today for consultation revised Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on supervisory reporting. The proposed amendments concern new requirements for the reporting of information on sovereign exposures and changed requirements for the reporting of operational risk data. The standards on supervisory reporting aim at collecting information on institutions’ compliance with prudential requirements in a consistent way and need to be updated whenever prudential or supervisory requirements change. This consultation runs until 7 January 2017.

DIFC To Host First Race Of 2017 Bloomberg Square Mile Relay Global Series

SIX Receives AA- Credit Rating From Standard & Poor's For The Seventh Time In A Row

The rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) has once again affirmed an AA- credit rating for SIX Group Ltd, thereby reflecting its broad diversification and excellent risk management. The securities services providers SIX SIS Ltd and SIX x-clear Ltd each received an AA- rating (after AA in the previous year). The rating of SIX Payment Services (Austria) GmbH declined slightly from AA- to A+. S&P views the outlook for SIX Group Ltd as stable.

Good morning. Welcome to all of you, especially the distinguished panelists. I want to thank Chair White for holding today’s forum, as well as being forward-thinking about financial technology (“FinTech”) by creating the Commission’s first ever FinTech working group. In her opening remarks, Chair White already mentioned a number of staffers who helped make this forum happen. I also want to recognize Michael Liftik and Ryan VanGrack from the Chair’s Office for all their efforts in coordinating this event.
