  • Nigerian Stock Exchange: Stock Market Weekly Report For April 28th, 2017

    A total turnover of 1.333 billion shares worth N9.671 billion in 16,300 deals were traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange in contrast to a total of 896.748 million shares valued at N5.918 billion that exchanged hands last week in 11,185 deals.

  • S&P Dow Jones Indices Index Dashboard: Europe

    • April saw the markets captivated by a closely-fought first round of the French elections; the result sent French assets on a tear, taking the S&P Europe 350® with them.
    • Inflation-linked bonds jostled with French sovereign bonds at the head of the pack in a positive month for Europe's fixed income markets.
    • The S&P Europe 350 Quality was the best performer among equity strategies this month, while Industrials led among sectors.

  • BOX Regulation: Customer Cross Orders

    BOX Options Exchange (“BOX”) recently filed to expand the execution range for a Customer Cross Order. Under the proposed change, a Customer Cross Order will automatically execute if the execution price is at or between the best bid and offer on BOX, provided that it is not at the same price as a Public Customer Order on the BOX Book. The requirement that the Customer Cross Order not trade through the NBBO will remain the same.

    Central bank compliance with prohibitions on monetary financing and privileged access

    On 10 April 2017, in accordance with the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), which assigns the ECB the task of monitoring the compliance of EU central banks with the prohibitions referred to in Articles 123 and 124 of the TFEU and the related Regulations, the Governing Council approved the compliance report covering the year 2016. Further information on this matter can be found in a dedicated section of the ECB’s Annual Report 2016, which was published on the ECB’s website on 10 April 2017.
