Bursa Malaysia Signs Memorandum Of Understanding With Shanghai Stock Exchange

Bursa Malaysia Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia” or “the Exchange”) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Under the terms of the MoU, both parties will explore potential ways for the two exchanges to improve their visibility and accessibility to market participants in Malaysia and China.

Securities Commission Malaysia Revokes Licences Of Three Individuals

Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has revoked the Capital Markets Services Representative’s Licences (CMSRLs) of three individuals, namely Norhashmilaidi bin Hashim (Norhashmilaidi), Ngan Piang Heng @ Ngam Siong Fook (Ngan) and Abd Malik bin Abu Bakar (Malik). All three CMSRLs were revoked under section 72 read together with section 65 of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 (CMSA), effective 27 March 2017 for Norhashmilaidi and Ngan, and 18 April 2017 for Malik.

"The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde met with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras today in Beijing on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Forum. They took the opportunity to discuss progress being made in Greece's economic program. They exchanged views on next steps and the importance of continued implementation of agreed reforms and support from Greece's partners, including appropriate debt relief measures."
