I have just attended the meeting of the College of Commissioners, at the invitation of Jean-Claude Juncker.
Our first day of negotiations, on 19June, was useful to start off on the right foot.

The United Kingdom triggered Article 50 on 29 March 2017. What has happened since then on the EU side?
On 29 March 2017, the United Kingdom notified the European Council of its intention to leave the European Union, in accordance with Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union.
On 29 April 2017, the European Council at EU27 adopted a set of political guidelines, which define the framework for the negotiations and set out the EU's overall positions and principles.

ESMA Reviews The Application Of IFRS 13 – Fair Value Measurement Requirements

ESMA has published today a report providing an overview of the implementation of IFRS 13 Fair Value Measurement by European issuers. The report assesses the level of compliance of IFRS financial statements with the requirements in IFRS 13 and the comparability amongst entities.

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), part of the Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE:ICE), has enhanced its listing rules and services platform to attract Special Acquisition Companies (SPACs) to list on the NYSE. A final rule filing for NYSE’s SPAC listings was approved by the SEC late last week.

The Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of TMX Group, today commends The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation's (DTCC) subsidiary operating the Global Markets Entity Identifier utility (GMEI utility) on receiving official accreditation from the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF). The GMEI utility operates as the largest Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) issuer by share of the total LEIs issued worldwide.

Royal Bank Of Scotland Group: Settlement Reached With The Federal Housing Finance Agency Regarding US RMBS Claims

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (together with its subsidiaries, “RBS”) has reached a settlement with the Federal Housing Finance Agency (“FHFA”) as conservator of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to resolve claims by FHFA in relation to RBS’s issuance and underwriting of approximately US$32 billion (£25 billion) of residential mortgage-backed securities (“RMBS”) in the US. As part of the settlement, FHFA’s outstanding litigation against RBS will be withdrawn.

US Federal Housing Finance Agency Announces $5.5 Billion Settlement With Royal Bank Of Scotland

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), as conservator of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, today announced it has reached a settlement with Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, related companies and specifically named individuals (collectively RBS) for $5.5 billion. The settlement resolves all claims in the lawsuit FHFA v. The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc et al., Case No. 3:11-cv-1383 in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.
