The Takeovers Executive (Note 1) notes that the Takeovers and Mergers Panel (Panel) has ruled that a waiver of the general offer obligation (a Whitewash Waiver) should be granted, subject to conditions, in relation to a share buy-back offer which Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) announced in January 2017.

Top Women Business Leaders Open JPX To Mark Japan’s Hosting Global Summit Of Women

Forty women board directors and executives led by Corporate Women Directors International (CWDI) President Irene Natividad opened the stock market of Tokyo Stock Exchange, a subsidiary of Japan Exchange Group (JPX), today to salute Japan's hosting of the 2017 Global Summit of Women. JPX CEO Akira Kiyota welcomed the women participating in ringing the opening bell and stated " It is a great honor for JPX to be able to welcome this group of world-class leaders working towards the advancement of women around the globe. I can once again firmly assert that we must create a society where women can shine." Brought together by CWDI, a Washington, DC-based organization which researches and promotes women on boards globally, the Market Open also marked the important contributions Japanese women have made to the nation's economy.

Solactive is announcing the release of the Solactive Global Infrastructure Low Earnings Volatility Index used as the underlying index for the AMUNDI GLOBAL INFRASTRUCTURE UCITS ETF listed for trading today on the Euronext Paris stock exchange. The index tracks the performance of a global portfolio of 100 investable and liquid companies operating in the infrastructure space that exhibit the lowest volatility in reported earnings per share among their peers. Companies included in the index belong to sectors such as telecommunications, transportation, logistics, utilities and energy.

FSB Publishes Global Shadow Banking Monitoring Report 2016

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) today published the Global Shadow Banking Monitoring Report 2016. The report presents the results of the FSB’s sixth annual monitoring exercise to assess global trends and risks in the shadow banking system, reflecting data up to the end of 2015. It covers 28 jurisdictions, including Belgium and the Cayman Islands for the first time.1 These jurisdictions together account for about 80% of global GDP.
