European Financial Stability Facility Raises €4.5 Billion In Two Bond Deals

The European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) on Tuesday raised €4.5 billion in a dual-tranche bond deal, taking another major step towards meeting its third-quarter funding needs. The EFSF raised €3 billion in a new 10-year benchmark bond, and €1.5 billion in a tap of an existing 39-year bond.

EEX Group Grows Significantly In Emissions, Agriculturals And Freight In First Half Of 2017 - Uncertainty About Split Of The German-Austrian Price Zone Leads To Volume Decrease On Power Derivatives Market

Following a record result in the business year 2016, EEX Group has published its half year volumes for 2017, achieving notable increases in the markets for emission rights, agricultural products and global commodities (i.e. freight) alongside decreases on the power derivatives market. Double digit growth was also achieved on the natural gas spot business. A challenging regulatory environment, in particular the price zone debate and possible split of the German/Austria bidding zone has had an impact on the trading volumes in EEX’s power markets which was in line with the performance in the European power market as a whole.

ESMA Recommends Improvements In Financial Information Enforcement

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published the results of a peer review conducted into how national competent authorities (NCAs) supervise financial information (IFRS) according to the Guidelines on Enforcement of Financial Information (Guidelines). The report identifies areas where NCAs can improve their enforcement and makes recommendations to support these improvements.

Governance & Accountability Institute, Inc. is the exclusive data partner for the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in the United States, United Kingdom, and The Republic of Ireland. In this role the Institute monitors, collects and analyzes every sustainability report published in these three countries. The results of this pro-bono work help to feed the GRI's "Sustainability Disclosure Database," the largest sustainability database in the world, with 41,734 sustainability reports as of June 30th, 2017.

ESAs Consult On Amendments To Technical Standards On The Mapping Of ECAIs

The Joint Committee of the three European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, EIOPA and ESMA - ESAs) launched today a public consultation to amend the Implementing Regulations on the mapping of credit assessments of External Credit Assessment Institutions (ECAIs) for credit risk to reflect the recognition of five new credit rating agencies (CRAs) and the deregistration of one CRA. The Implementing Regulations are part of the EU Single Rulebook for banking and insurance aimed at creating a safe and sound regulatory framework consistently applicable across the European Union (EU). The consultation runs until 18/09/2017.

CPMI And IOSCO: Implementation Monitoring Of PFMI: Level 2 Assessment Report For Singapore

The Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) have today published a report that finds that Singapore’s legal, regulatory and oversight framework for key payments and settlement systems complies with CPMI-IOSCO’s Principles for financial market infrastructures (PFMI) with the one exception of Principle 24 regarding disclosure of market data by trade repositories (TRs).
