US Treasury Announces Marketable Borrowing Estimates

The U.S. Department of the Treasury today announced its current estimates of net marketable borrowing for the July – September 2017 and October – December 2017 quarters:- During the July – September 2017 quarter, Treasury expects to borrow $96 billion in net marketable debt, assuming an end-of-September cash balance of $60 billion. The borrowing estimate is $2 billion lower than announced in May 2017.
- During the October – December 2017 quarter, Treasury expects to borrow $501 billion in net marketable debt, assuming an end-of-December cash balance of $360 billion.

Financial Services Superintendent Maria T. Vullo today announced that the Department of Financial Services (DFS) has launched a new online portal to securely transmit in real time all notifications required under New York’s first-in-the-nation cybersecurity regulation. This regulation requires all banks, insurance companies, and other financial services institutions regulated by DFS to establish and maintain a cybersecurity program designed to protect consumers’ private data and ensure the safety and soundness of New York’s financial services industry.

EBA Reports Show That Banks Funding Plans Paint An Optimistic Outlook For Growth Whilst NPLs Remain A Drag On EU Banks New Lending

The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today two reports on EU banks' funding plans and asset encumbrance respectively. The reports aim to provide important information for EU supervisors to assess the sustainability of banks' main sources of funding. The results of the assessment show that banks plan to increase their lending and to expand deposits as well as market based funding.

SEC Files Fraud Charges Against Former Brokers Targeting Federal Retirees

TSX Trust Appointed As Trustee For EllisDon’s Groves Memorial Community Hospital Development Project

TSX Trust, TMX Group's corporate trust services provider, has been appointed indenture trustee and security agent for EllisDon Infrastructure GMCH Inc.'s approximate CAD 100M bond issuance. The proceeds will be used to design and build the recently awarded Groves Memorial Community Hospital (GMCH) Development project. This project is being delivered using Infrastructure Ontario's Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) model, an innovative way to finance and procure large, complex public infrastructure projects.

CFTC Releases Rule Enforcement Review Of The North American Derivatives Exchange

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Division of Market Oversight (DMO) announced today that it has issued the results of a rule enforcement review of the North American Derivatives Exchange Inc. (Nadex). The review, which covered a one-year target period, evaluated Nadex’s compliance with elements of Core Principles 2 (Compliance with Rules) and 12 (Protection of Markets and Market Participants), including compliance with relevant CFTC regulations related to these Core Principles.
