Iceland Stock Exchange: Calculation Of Equity Indices Amended

As of 15 October Iceland Stock Exchange will adopt a new method for calculating ICEX equity indices. The new method is the same as the other NOREX exchanges adopted earlier this year. The major change concerns the price used to calculate the index value. In the new method, indices will be calculated using yesterday's closing price or the latest paid price until more favourable buy or sell orders have been placed. The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced a launch date of Friday, October 26, at 9:00 a.m., Chicago time, for its 10-Year Interest Rate Swap futures contracts. The new contracts will trade in the Agency/Swap futures pit and on the CBOT®'s electronic trading platform.

WCE Sees Significant Option Trade For The Month Of September

Total options volume for the month of September was 43.0% higher than the 4,856 contracts recorded for the same month a year ago, while crop year-to-date volume in total options was up 102.6% over the same period. Total open interest in options, as of September 30, 2001, was up 49.5% compared to year-ago totals. Increases in canola and feed wheat options led to the overall higher figures for options open interest levels in September.
