Seven Nasdaq Stocks Begin Trading on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Pilot Program - Amgen, Applied Materials, Cisco, Dell, Intel, Microsoft, Starbucks

The Nasdaq Stock Market® (Nasdaq®) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. (HKEx) today announced the beginning of a pilot program to quote and trade seven Nasdaq stocks in Hong Kong. The seven stocks include some of the largest Nasdaq stocks with strong business interests in Asia, as follows: Amgen, Applied Materials, Cisco, Dell, Intel, Microsoft, Starbucks.

Nymex To Increase Electricity Margins

The New York Mercantile Exchange will raise the margins on its California/Oregon border and Palo Verde electricity futures and on the July and August 2000 Cinergy, Entergy, and Pennsylvania/New Jersey/Maryland electricity futures contracts as of the close of business today.

Nasdaq Sets Record For Greatest One-day Percentage Gain - Second Greatest One-day Point Gain Also Established

The Nasdaq Stock Market® yesterday had its largest one-day percentage increase ever, with preliminary figures showing the Nasdaq Composite® Index rising 7.94 percent - up 254.37 points to 3459.48. The previous one-day percentage increase record was set on October 21, 1987 with the Composite Index rising 7.34 percent. The Composite's 254.37 point increase was also its second greatest one-day point gain ever.

Market Making In Icelandic Government Bonds Increased Transparency In The Bond Market June-December 2000

In order to increase transparency and enhance market making in the secondary market the Minister of Finance has assigned the National Debt Management Agency (NDMA) the task of offering Market Making Agreements to market participants. Under this agreement Market Makers will be paid a fixed commission based on the transaction volume they initiate on the Icelandic Stock Exchange. The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Announces The TA Banking Index

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange announced that on June 1, 2000,it would introduce the TA Banking Index. The index will track the performance of the five TASE-listed bank shares with the highest market capitalization. The Exchange also decided to launch options and futures contracts on the new index. Trading in the TA Banking Index derivatives will begin after the start of trading in new derivatives on the TA 75 Index, which is expected shortly.

SWX Swiss Exchange - Investment Company Segment Trading Also In Foreign Currency

As of 1 June 2000, investment companies that are listed on the SWX Swiss Exchange can apply for their shares to be traded in a foreign currency. Other than the Swiss-franc trading basis that has been available to date, a choice can now be made between US dollars and euros.
