    The New York Stock Exchange yesterday released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Dec. 6-10. The data indicated that during Dec. 6-10, program trading amounted to 18.8 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 1,013.6 million shares, or 190.2 million shares a day.

  • PHLX Waives Customer Transaction And Comparison Fees

    The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that all customer transaction and comparison fees will be waived for orders up to 250 contracts entered through PHLX's Automated Options Market (AUTOM), effective January 3, 2000. Currently, customer fees are $0.14 per option contract.

    A record number of stock option contracts traded at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) on Friday, December 17. A total of 1,664,493 stock option contracts (equivalent to 166 million shares of stock) traded during the December expiration session, beating the previous record equity volume of 1,651,165 contracts set on November 19, 1999. Total option volume at CBOE on Friday was an estimated 1,922,275 contracts.
