OneChicago Appoints 24 Initial Lead Market Makers For Launch

OneChicago, LLC today announced the approval of 24 initial Lead Market Makers (LMMs) for the launch of trading single stock futures and narrow-based stock indices at the exchange. As its trading model, OneChicago will implement a Lead Market Maker system, in which LMMs will be responsible for providing continuous, two-sided markets and liquidity for all products to which they are appointed.

OneChicago Announces Futures On Narrow-Based Indices - Additional Listings For Single Stock Futures Trading

OneChicago LLC today announced plans to list futures on eight narrow-based indices and an additional 41 stocks at launch, expected in the second quarter of 2002. The individual stocks supplement the list of 30 single stock futures OneChicago previously announced.

In February 2002, some 2.8 billion euros in volume was traded in XTF, Deutsche Börse's stock-exchange segment for index funds and actively managed funds. Turnover in the XTF segment thus remains stable at record levels (January 2002: 2.9 billion euros). The daily average volume traded in XTF rose from 131 million euros to 141 million euros in February, an increase of about eight percent. Stock Promoter Who Obstructed Justice In SEC Enforcement Action Sentenced To 17 ½ Year Prison Term

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today that Sidney Wade Sers was sentenced to 17 ½ years in federal prison for obstruction of justice, contempt of court and money laundering charges related to an SEC enforcement action. Sers was convicted of concealing $800,000 in Cayman Island bank accounts, in violation of court orders stemming from the SEC action.
