A record volume of currency operations in the whole history of the Russian organized currency market since 1992 was registered today in the MICEX Currency Market Section. The volume of transactions in the US dollar reached 1,638 bln dollars in one trading session, 1,265 bln dollars accounting for the instrument with tomorrow settlements. The previous record of 1,3 bln dollars was set 30 September 2003.

Internet trading accounted for 37% of total trading volume, compared with 38% the week before. 12 972 transactions were closed, up from 8 235 transactions last week.

Turnover The total turnover on all market segments of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) in September 2003 totalled SIT 28.9 billion, which was 7.6% more than the prevcious month, and 10.8% more than this year's monthly average. In comparison to September 2002, the turnover decreased by 30.4%, or by SIT 12.6 billion.
