Newex: 238 Million Euros Turnover At NEWEX In September

At NEWEX (New Europe Exchange), the exchange for Central and East European securities, volume of 238.1 million euros was traded in September, 26.8 percent higher than the previous month´s level (August: 187.7 million euros). Volume of 114.6 million euros or approximately 48 percent of the total, was traded in the NX.plus quality segment. New Standard & Poor's Commodity Index Records Solid First Day Of Trading At NYBOT

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced that its new Standard & Poor's Commodity Index (SPCI) futures contract market posted an opening-day total of 1,022 futures contracts traded on Friday, October 19, 2001. Open interest was also reported to be 451 at the end of the first day of trading.

Euronext Amsterdam Starts Euronext Trading System With 24 Liquidity Providers

On 29 October 2001, the Euronext Amsterdam exchange will change over to the Euronext Market Model, which uses NSC trade technology. This is an important step towards the creation of Europe's biggest stock market, one that will feature not only a unified trading system, but also a single market model and a single set of rules. The system of liquidity providers (LPs), some of which will be active in more than one market segment, comes into effect on 29 October.

Michael Sanderson Named Chief Executive Officer Of Nasdaq Europe

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (Nasdaq ) today announced that it has named Michael Sanderson as chief executive officer of Nasdaq Europe. Sanderson, 58, who starts today, is responsible for leading the operation and development of Nasdaq Europe, as it continues to focus on building its liquidity and market share and becoming a major player in the European marketplace. Reporting to John Hilley, chairman of Nasdaq International, Sanderson will be based in London.

Ljubljana Stock Exchange Monthly Statistical Report: September 2001

Turnover In September 2001 the total turnover on all market segments of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange amounted to SIT 35.87 billion, which was almost double the August figure (exactly 91% higher) and more than in September 2000, when the turnover reached SIT 18.97 billion. Deutsche Börse: Xetra Established As Trading Platform For US Equities - Further Increases In Turnover On Xetra

One month after the launch of the new U.S. segment, Xetra's position as a trading platform for U.S. equities has expanded further. Last week, the fourth week of trading since the segment was launched on September 24, a volume of 144.6 million euros in U.S. stocks was traded on Xetra; this means that turnover increased by 47 percent compared with the third week of trading.
