On Thursday, June 14, all of Korean financial markets including KOFEX closed because of the local poll.After it slightly went up during the previous week, the KTB futures market showed a mild but constant downward movement during the four trading days of the week. In the USD/KRW F/X futures market, the lead month contract USD206 increased by KRW 8.5 or 0.69 percent during the week.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index: The common shares of Gemini Energy Corp. (TSX:GNI) will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of business on Monday, June 24, 2002. The company's securities will be listed on the TSX at the opening on Tuesday, June 25, 2002.

CFTC Issues Report On Its Intermediaries Study

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has delivered to Congress a report on its study of potential regulatory relief for the futures commission merchants, introducing brokers, commodity pool operators (CPOs), and commodity trading advisors (CTAs) that serve as intermediaries in the commodity futures and options markets. The study was mandated by the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000.
