KCBT volume traded in June transcends all previous monthly records
During the month of June, volume traded at the Kansas City Board of Trade surpassed all previous monthly records. June volume of 309,539 contracts was the largest since the KCBT's inception over 120 years ago. This was an 8 percent increase over the previous record of 285,994 contracts, set in June 1998.

Futures Exchanges Commend Lugar, Ewing Action
The Chicago Board of Trade, Chicago Mercantile Exchange and New York Mercantile Exchange today released the following joint statement in response to a statement issued July 1 by Sen. Dick Lugar, Chairman of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee, and Rep. Tom Ewing, Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee's Subcommittee on Risk Management, Research and Specialty Crops.

Cap Gemini N.V to be removed from Amsterdam Midkap Index once Bid is accepted
On June 16, 1999, Cap Gemini S.A., the French parent company of Cap Gemini N.V., issued a press release announcing its intention to acquire all the outstanding shares in Cap Gemini N.V. by means of a public share exchange bid. Cap Gemini N.V. will be removed from the Amsterdam Midkap Index (AMX) as soon as possible once the bid is accepted. The weighting assigned to Cap Gemini N.V. will be distributed proportionately between the 24 remaining securities.

A New Surveillance System at the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited have acquired a new automated surveillance and trading analysis system called SMARTS. The SFC and the Exchange acquired the system from Computershare, an Australian software vendor. After extensive testing during the past five months, the system is now fully operational.

Spain's MEFF Renta Variable Trades DJ STOXX Derivatives Through Euro GLOBEX
