First Austrian SWX Participant: Raiffeisen Centrobank AG, Vienna

The SWX Swiss Exchange has gained a new member in Raiffeisen Centrobank AG, Vienna, a leading Austrian investment bank which offers a comprehensive range of products and services relating to shares, derivatives and equity capital transactions. Its sole shareholder is Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich AG. The new participant will take up trading on the SWX on Monday, 24 February 2003. The addition of Raiffeisen Centrobank AG has increased the number of SWX participants to 101.

Chicago Stock Exchange January 2003 Volume Results

The CHX share volume increased by 3 percent from January 2002. Total trade volume was down 10 percent from January 2002. Total OTC share volume declined to 522,454,672 a decrease of 46 percent from January 2002. OTC trade volume was down 59 percent for the same period last year.

American Stock Exchange Reports Increase In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 491,389,754 shares as of the February 14 settlement date, an increase of 65,062,293 from the 426,327,461 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-January. The February figure represents trades through February 11, 2003.

Tokyo Stock Exchange: Dormancy Of 20-year JGB Futures And Options On 5-year JGB Futures

Based on the trading activity of the rarely traded products, the Tokyo Stock Exchange decided dormancy of 20-year JGB futures and Options on 5-year JGB futures as follows: 20-year JGB futures December 2002 and subsequent contracts will not be started trading note December 2002 contract was originally scheduled to start trading on March 12, 2002. TSE may review the possibility of re-starting trade if necessary.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index: After the close of trading on Thursday, February 20, 2003, National Gold Corporation (TSXVN:NGT) will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index. The company is amalgamating with Alamos Minerals Ltd. (TSXVN:AAS) to form Alamos Gold Inc. (TSXVN:AGI). Alamos Gold Inc. will be added to the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index at the same time.
