  • Wiener Börse Granted Status Of 'Designated Offshore Securites Market'

    The Austrian capital market has no need to be shy of any comparison with international markets: This was confirmed once again when the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) granted Wiener Börse the status of “Designated Offshore Securities Market” in accordance with the “U.S. Securities Act of 1933”. Thus, Wiener Börse joins the exclusive club of some 30 international stock exchanges, such as Frankfurt and Hong Kong, who also have this status.

    Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P Europe 350 and S&P United Kingdom indices effective the close of trading Wednesday, January 19, 2005: SABMiller PLC (United Kingdom, SEDOL: 0483548, GICS: Consumer Staples, GICS Code: 30201010), a member of the S&P Europe 350 and S&P United Kingdom indices, shares will increase to 1,073,296,822. This is following the conversation of Guaranteed Convertible Bonds (due 10 Aug. 2006) into SABMiller PLC ordinary shares.

    The Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse AG (Deutsche Börse) has in its meeting on January 17 given its approval for a possible cash offer for the London Stock Exchange plc (London Stock Exchange), should the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse decide to proceed with the offer. The Supervisory Board has also authorized a Committee of the Supervisory Board as well as the Executive Board to take further decisions regarding a possible offer.   • CEO Bursa Malaysia : Capital Market Development Fund - Bursa Research Scheme Facilitates Effective Profiling For Listed Companies

    Bursa Malaysia Berhad launched the Capital Market Development Fund (CMDF) - Bursa Research Scheme after a signing ceremony this morning. The funding agreement was signed by Dato' Md Nor Yusof, Chairman of the Securities Commission on behalf of the CMDF and Yusli Mohamed Yusoff, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia on behalf of the exchange. Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin Haji Abdullah, Chairman of Bursa Malaysia commemorated the launch of the research scheme, by launching the webpage of the scheme.
