CBOT's July Volume Sets Highest Monthly Total At 45,018,548

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced its highest monthly volume total ever at 45,018,548 contracts for July 2003, up 35.4% from July 2002, up 9.3% from June 2003 and up 37.3% year-to-date (YTD). A new exchange daily volume record was set on July 31 with 3,331,999 contracts traded surpassing the old record of 3,286,987 set May 28, 2003. In addition, six of the top ten monthly volume records were shattered in 2003.

Kansas City Board Of Trade July Volume And Open Interest Exceeds June Tally

The Kansas City Board of Trade volume traded during the month of July was the largest since last September, with 334,978 contracts traded. Both wheat futures and wheat options trading volume increased over last month's levels.

Trading In Crude Oil, Refined Product, And Electricity Futures On NYMEX ClearPort<SUP>sm</SUP> Extended Through Contract Month

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today extended the termination schedule for its crude oil, refined product, and electricity calendar swap futures contracts that trade on NYMEX ClearPortsm to allow for trading through the last business day of the contract month, starting with the August 2003 contract.

Singapore Exchange: Taiwan Futures Trade Record Volume In July

Singapore Exchange (SGX) today announced that its MSCI Taiwan Index Futures contract traded a record monthly volume of 519,546 contracts in July 2003, surpassing its previous record of 463,156 contracts traded in May this year. Month-on-month, the volume traded in July this year increased 19.7% as compared to 434,204 contracts traded in July 2002.
