CyberTrader Inc., the direct access brokerage subsidiary of The Charles Schwab Corporation (NYSE: SCH), and Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), the largest futures exchange in the United States, announced today that they have teamed up to provide CyberTraders with direct order-execution connectivity to CME via the exchange's GLOBEX® electronic trading platform for the trading of CME's E-miniTM S&P 500® and E-mini NASDAQ-100® stock index contracts.

HKEx Clarifies Today's Market Open

Due to Typhoon Imbudo, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced this morning (Thursday) that its securities market would open at 10:30 a.m. (the market usually opens at 10:00 a.m.). The market was subsequently opened at 10:32 a.m. instead of the planned time of 10:30 a.m. This was due to the longer than expected activation time of the manual market opening procedures. HKEx regrets any inconvenience caused.

FSA Seeks To Ban Insurance Cover For Regulatory Fines

Regulated firms and individuals will not be able to use insurance to pay FSA fines under new rules proposed by the FSA today. The changes are intended to ensure that anyone who is fined must pay the fine himself rather than claim it under insurance. The proposed changes reflect concerns that firms are increasingly taking out insurance policies designed to pay for FSA fines.
