The international derivatives market Eurex today confirmed the February 8 date for the start of trading on its new all electronic U.S. exchange Eurex US, following the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) designation of the exchange as a U.S. contract market.

Deutsche Börse Publishes Company Rankings For The Equity Indices - Decision On Changes To Equity Indices To Be Taken On February 17

On Wednesday, Deutsche Börse published the current list of companies ranked by market capitalization and stock-exchange turnover for the equity indices DAX, MDAX, SDAX, TecDAX and NEMAX 50. Decisions regarding possible changes in the composition of the indices will be made by the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse on the basis of these rankings on February17; such changes will then take effect on March 22.
Copenhagen Stock Exchange Share Trading Reached All-time High In January

For the first time ever, the value of share trading exceeded DKK 50 billion in one single month as the total turnover amounted to DKK 53.4 billion in January 2004. This was a rise of 12 per cent compared with the previous record set in October 2002.
CFTC Designates New Exchange - U.S. Futures Exchange

In a public meeting, held on February 4, 2004, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) voted unanimously to designate the U.S. Futures Exchange, L.L.C. (USFE) as a contract market for the automated trading of futures and options on futures contracts. This is the CFTC’s seventh exchange designation since implementation of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 (CFMA).
