    Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) implemented the first phase of its historic Common Clearing Link with the Chicago Board of Trade on Monday, Nov. 24. At launch, which officially took place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, CME began providing clearing and settlement services for a number of CBOT products, including agricultural, Fed funds, swap, muni and DowSM futures and options on futures contracts.

Carey observes the successful launching of the exchange's new electronic trading platform powered by LIFFE CONNECT® and the CME/CBOT Common Clearing Link (CCL) on Sunday, November 23, with the first phase of CBOT futures and options contracts opening for trading as scheduled at 7:01 p.m. (Chicago Time). The first contract traded on the new platform occurred at 7:03 p.m. in the DEC 03 Fed Funds contract.
