Pacific Exchange Upgrades PCX Plus - Immediate Electronic Executions Now Available For Broker-Dealers

The Pacific Exchange (PCX) announced yesterday that it successfully implemented a major enhancement to its new electronic trading system, PCX Plus. This was the first comprehensive upgrade made to PCX Plus since its launch in October 2003 intended to add significant flexibility and functionality to the system.

The NYSE’s supplemental filing further clarifies the rules and functionality of the expanded NYSE Direct+® automatic order-execution service.

Nymex Metals, COMEX Division Futures And Options Set Annual Volume Record

Metals futures and options surpassed its previous annual volume record on Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., when the total reached 25,028,149 contracts for the year, topping the record of 24,828,531 contracts traded in 2003.

London Stock Exchange Monthly Market Report - Strong Order Book Trading During October

Exchange’s electronic order book, was £3.6 billion during October 2004, up 14 per cent on the same month last year. The total number of trades on SETS during the month was a record 3,658,902, whilst the value traded during the month increased 4 per cent on the previous year to £75.7 billion. This was achieved in just 21 trading days in October 2004, compared with 23 in October 2003.
