RTS Stock Exchange: FORTS Open Interest Record

On April 11 th , 2005, the new open interest record was registered on FORTS, the derivatives market of the RTS Stock Exchange. Total open interest exceeded 1,72 million contracts, two times over the number of daily average number of open positions in 2004 and 28% higher than the daily average posted since the beginning of the year.
NYSE Regulation Charges 17 Former Specialist Members With Securities Fraud

New York Stock Exchange Regulation today announced the issuance of charges against 17 former specialists for alleged securities fraud violations. The charges, which were issued by the Enforcement division, were the result of investigations conducted in conjunction with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Northeast Regional Office.
NYMEX Europe Sets Brent Crude Oil Daily Volume Record

Brent crude oil futures trading set a daily volume record yesterday when 18,374 contracts were traded on the NYMEX Europe Dublin trading floor. The previous daily record of 16,427 Brent crude futures contracts traded was set on November 19, 2004.

Euronext.liffe Extends Trading Hours For Three Month Euribor Futures Contract

Euronext.liffe, the international derivatives business of Euronext N.V, announced today that from Monday 27 June 2005 the trading hours in the Three Month Euribor Futures contract will be extended by three hours. Euribor futures will close at 21.00 not 18.00 London time.

Deutsche Börse on Tuesday published the agenda for the company’s 2005 AGM, to be held on 25 May. Commenting on the AGM, Rolf-E. Breuer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said, "In the vote at this year’s AGM, shareholders will have the opportunity to express their support for ongoing Board and management initiatives to achieve superior returns for shareholders."

On Thursday, 7 April 2005, CESR presented its 2004 Annual Report and a detailed report on the steps it is taking to improve supervisory convergence in the European Union to the Financial Services Committee (FSC). Following the announcement of Umicore, made public on February 22, 2005, concerning a demerger of their copper branch into a new company to be named Cumerio, Euronext Indices would like to draw the attention on article 5.4.8 of the BEL20® index rules. This article stipulates that if a company is split to form two new companies, none, one or both of them may qualify for admission to the BEL20® index depending on their respective market capitalization.
