OneChicago Reports 81% Increase In September Volume, Up 151% YTD

OneChicago, LLC today reported that 538,267 security futures contracts traded at the Exchange in September, 81% higher than September 2004 volume. The average daily volume in September was 25,632. Year-to-date volume is up 151%. Open interest stood at 1,093,032 contracts on Sept. 30.

NYMEX To Appeal Decision In ICE Litigation

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. (NYMEX), was informed on Friday afternoon that Judge John G. Koeltl dismissed NYMEX's claims for copyright and trademark infringement against IntercontinentalExchange (ICE), arising out of ICE's copying of NYMEX's settlement prices for Henry Hub natural gas and light, sweet crude oil and related uses of NYMEX trademarks.

NYMEX Announces Alternate Settlement Procedure For October 2005 Henry Hub Swing Swap Futures Contract

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., announced today that will delay issuing a final settlement price for its October 2005 Henry Hub swing swap contract. Due to the force majeure declaration at the Henry Hub facility in Louisiana, the October 3, 2005, Platts Gas Daily did not publish a price for flow dates October 1 to 3 for the Henry Hub.
