Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chairman Reuben Jeffery III announced today that CFTC General Counsel Patrick J. McCarty is stepping down as General Counsel October 1st and leaving the Commission by the end of the year.

European Energy Exchange (EEX) physical Futures may lead to the application of the “own use exemption” according to IAS 39. Due to this “own use exemption”, Futures are not balanced as derivatives and they do not have to be evaluated according to market value. This was confirmed by accounting experts from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), EEX and workshop participants during the fourth accounting workshop in Leipzig.

Dow Jones Indexes today announced the results of the third regular quarterly review in 2005 for Dow Jones China Indexes (Dow-China Indexes). The component changes in the Dow Jones China 88 (Dow-China 88), Dow Jones China Total Market (Dow-China Total Market), Dow Jones Shanghai (Dow-Shanghai), Dow Jones Shenzhen (Dow-Shenzhen) Index, and Dow Jones CBN China 600 Index will be effective on October 10, 2005.
