SEC Files Emergency Action To Stop Ongoing Microcap Stock Fraud

The Securities and Exchange Commission today filed an emergency enforcement action in federal court charging two New York men, Faisal Zafar and Sameer Thawani, with perpetrating an ongoing securities fraud over the Internet. The complaint alleges that since late 2004 and as recently as March 2006, Zafar and Thawani have engaged in a "pump and dump" scheme to manipulate the market for at least 24 thinly traded "microcap" or "smallcap" stocks. Resolutions From OMX AB’s AGM

The OMX Annual General Meeting (AGM) convened earlier today in Stockholm and voted in favor of all resolutions proposed at the meeting, including: The AGM approved the distribution of a dividend of SEK 6.50 to shareholders, comprising of a regular dividend of SEK 3.00 per share and an extra dividend of SEK 3.50 per share. The record date was determined as April 11, 2006. The dividend is scheduled to be distributed on April 18, 2006.

OMX Launches New Nordic Real-Time Information Products

As an element in the creation of the Nordic exchange, OMX launches new Nordic real-time information products. The vendors of market information to private investors get real-time prices from the OMX exchanges in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki at the lowest prices in Europe. The change will be implemented in connection with the Nordic list which is launched on October 2.

NYMEX Holdings, Inc., parent company of the preeminent physical futures exchange, and CME, the world's largest and most diverse financial exchange, announced today that they have signed a definitive technology services agreement under which CME will become the exclusive electronic trading services provider for NYMEX's energy futures and options contracts. Access to electronic trading of NYMEX products will be available virtually 24 hours a day on the CME Globex(R) electronic trading platform.

NASD Charges A.B. Watley And Former Brokers With Facilitating Mutual Fund Late Trading And Market Timing For Hedge Funds - Firm's President And Executive Vice President Charged With Supervisory Failures

NASD announced today that it has filed a complaint against A.B. Watley Direct, Inc. (ABW Direct) of New York, and its former registered representatives, Robert Conway and Kenneth Ng, charging them with facilitating late trading and improper market timing of mutual funds on behalf of hedge fund clients.

Joint Statement By The Securities Industry Association And The Bond Market Association

The boards of directors of the Bond Market Association and the Securities Industry Association voted yesterday endorsing the concept of merging the two associations into a new entity which will more effectively represent the member companies and the industry while enhancing the public’s trust and confidence in the markets. Once the organizational details have been decided, the boards will vote on the merger by June 30th, followed by a vote of the full membership.
