NYMEX Announces Margins, Position Accountability Reporting Levels For REBCO Futures On CME Globex®

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. today announced the position accountability, expiring month position limits and reporting levels for its new Russian export blend crude oil (REBCO) futures contract that will be offered for trading on CME Globex beginning on October 22 for trade date October 23.

Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes To U.S. Indices

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P 500 and S&P SmallCap 600 indices: CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. (NYSE:CBG) will replace BellSouth Corp. (NYSE:BLS) in the S&P 500 index after the close of trading on Thursday, October 12. BellSouth is being acquired by S&P 500 and S&P 100 Index constituent AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) in a deal expected to close on or about that date, pending final approvals. AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE:AHS) will replace Internet Security

CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) Sets New Single Day Record In Trading Of VIX Futures - Daily Volume Tops 10,000 Contracts For The First Time, Exchange Open Interest Continues To Hit New Highs

The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) announced today that trading volume in VX futures, based on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), reached a new all-time high on Tuesday, October 10, as 10,673 contracts traded -- the first time that volume has topped the 10,000-contract mark in a single day. Yesterday's total surpassed the previous high of 9,148 contracts set on May 3, 2006.

Tokyo Commodity Exchange Regulations On Aluminum Warehouse Reciepts Modified

The aluminum contract unit will be changed from 10,000 kg to 5,000 kg per contract, effective on October 27th, 2006 (applicable from the October 2007 contract onward).

TOCOM Changes Contract Unit For Silver And Aluminum

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange will halve the contract units of silver, in the precious metals market, and aluminum from their current sizes (the same modification will apply to the delivery unit of silver), effective on October 27th, 2006 (applicable from the October 2007 contract). In accordance with these changes, positions limits will also be modified.
