CFTC Proposes Order Exempting Credit Default Products From Applicable Provisions Of The CEA

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is proposing to exempt the trading and clearing of certain credit default options and credit default basket options from applicable provisions of the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA). These products are proposed to be traded on the Chicago Board Options Exchange and cleared by the Options Clearing Corporation.

SWX Swiss Exchange To Launch Central Counterparty (CCP) In Q3 2007

The Board of Directors of the SWX Swiss Exchange has decided to offer a CCP service for equity trading on the SWX, starting in the third quarter of 2007. This CCP service will be operated initially by SIS x-clear Ltd., but the SWX Swiss Exchange is also open to other CCP providers.

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. (NYSE, Nasdaq: CME) and CBOT Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BOT) today announced that they have revised the terms of their definitive merger agreement.
