In its regular meeting chaired by Dr. Günther Rabensteiner in Paris on 10 September 2009, the Exchange Council of European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) praised the successful integration of the EEX and Powernext Power Spot Markets into EPEX Spot SE. As a final formal step, EEX Power Spot GmbH was merged into EPEX Spot SE as of 1 September 2009. In connection with this, the current trading participants of EEX Power Spot GmbH were transferred to EPEX Spot SE.

Latest Global Financial Centres Index Shows London And New York Still Ahead As Asian Centres Do Well

The latest independent Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), published today, shows London and New York ahead as Asian centres make a surprise surge to take five of the top 10 rankings. Hong Kong and Singapore both saw their ratings increase and have closed on London and New York (which retain first and second positions respectively).

CME Group Announces The Launch Of Long-Term U.S. Treasury Bond Futures - 'Ultra' Treasury Bond In Response To Customer Demand - Increased Treasury Issuance

CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced the launch of Long-Term U.S. Treasury Bond futures, or "Ultra" Treasury Bonds, beginning in early first quarter 2010. This contract will be listed with, and subject to, the rules and regulations of the CBOT.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced today that it has fined Citigroup Global Markets, UBS Securities and Deutsche Bank Securities a total of $425,000 — and ordered the firms to make payments to customers that could total $420,000 — in connection with the firms' failure to adequately supervise communications with their customers in the initial public offering (IPO) of Vonage, LLC in May 2006.
