FIA Elects Directors And Officers

CFTC Charges Charlottesville, Virginia Man With Stealing $1 Million From Investors In A Ponzi Scheme Involving More Than $10 Million - Virginia Federal District Court Issues Restraining Order Freezing Defendants’ Assets And Preserving Records
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that it charged John M. Donnelly of Charlottesville, Virginia, with operating a Ponzi scheme involving more than $10 million in connection with three commodity futures pools.

CFTC Sanctions Chicago-based Walsh Trading Inc. $50,000 For Failing To Supervise An Employee’s Handling Of Customer Accounts - The Firm Also Ordered To Strengthen Its Supervisory Controls
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) settled charges of failure to supervise the handling of customer accounts against Walsh Trading Inc. (Walsh), a registered Chicago-based introducing broker, by sanctioning the firm $50,000 and requiring it to strengthen its supervisory oversight of associated persons (APs), employees, and agents.

SEC Charges Two Northern California Residents In $40 Million Ponzi Scheme
The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Northern California residents Anthony Vassallo and Kenneth Kenitzer for orchestrating a multi-million dollar investment fraud. Vassallo agreed to a court order freezing his assets. The SEC is seeking an emergency court order to also freeze the assets of Vassallo's company, Equity Investment Management and Trading, Inc. (EIMT).

CME Group Announces The Launch Of New Electricity Swap Futures Contracts
CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse derivatives exchange, today announced 10 new Midwest and California ISO electricity swap futures contracts, scheduled to begin trading on March 22 for trade date March 23. These contracts are listed with, and subject to, the rules and regulations of NYMEX. The products will be available through CME ClearPort®, an open clearing service for more than 600 OTC products.

This week, the G-20 will meet in London amid a severe global economic downtown and ongoing stress in the world's financial markets. This is a global crisis which calls for a global response. The G-20 Finance Ministers have two agenda items for that global response: how to ensure recovery and restart growth, and how to reform and coordinate the international regulatory and supervisory system to ensure that no such crisis occurs again.

Warsaw Stock Exchange Becomes The Majority Shareholder In MTS CeTo
The Polish Financial Supervision Authority decided on 11 March 2009 to permit the WSE to acquire a 61.31% stake in MTS CeTO and to exercise its voting right accordingly. Further to this decision, the WSE, formerly holding a ca. 30% stake, is now entitled to voting rights representing 92.47% of MTS CeTO share capital.
