Program Trading Averaged 32.3 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Oct. 24-28

The New York Stock Exchange, a subsidiary of NYSE Euronext (NYX), today released its weekly program-trading data compiled from member firms' executed volume from NYSE's orders database. The report includes trading on the NYSE for Oct. 24-28.

The three European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs), ESMA, EBA, and EIOPA respectively, today appointed members and alternates of their joint Board of Appeal. The joint Board of the ESAs is independent from their administrative and regulatory structures and will hear appeals from certain decisions taken by the ESAs.

The global Dow Jones Islamic Market Titans 100 Index, which measures the performance of 100 of the leading Shari’ah compliant stocks globally, had an up month in October with a gain  of 10.26%, closing at 2226.61. In comparison, the Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index, which measures the 50 biggest companies worldwide, posted a gain of 9.41%, closing at 175.29.

European Central Bank Monetary Policy Decisions

At today’s meeting the Governing Council of the ECB took the following monetary policy decisions:

The interest rate on the main refinancing operations of the Eurosystem will be decreased by 25 basis points to 1.25%, starting from the operation to be settled on 9 November 2011.
