FSA And HM Treasury Publish Joint Consultation Paper On The Transfer Of Regulatory Responsibility For Credit Unions In Northern Ireland

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) and HM Treasury (HMT) have today published a joint consultation paper setting out proposals for the transfer of the regulation of Northern Ireland (NI) credit unions from the NI Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI) to the FSA, bringing enhanced consumer protection to the 177 NI credit unions and their members. The transfer is due to take place on 31 March 2012.

HKEx To Introduce Additional Contract Months In Its Dividend Futures

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today (Wednesday) that two additional December contract months (December 2014 and December 2015) of HSI1 and HSCEI2 Dividend Point Index futures (Dividend Futures) will become available for trading from Monday, 12 September.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes:
- On Friday, August 26, 2011, trading on TSX in Sino-Forest Corporation (TSX:TRE) was halted by order of the Ontario Securities Commission. The S&P/TSX index committee has determined that Sino-Forest no longer qualifies to be a constituent of the S&P/TSX Composite Index. As a result, the company will be removed at zero price from the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX Equity and Capped Equity, the S&P/TSX Completion and Equity Completion and the S&P/TSX Capped Materials Indices after the close of trading on Friday, September 16, 2011, as part of the quarterly review of the S&P/TSX Composite Index.
