The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) Testifies In Support Of Bipartisan Legislation To Ensure Transparency Into OTC Derivatives Markets

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) today testified before a House Agriculture Subcommittee in support of bipartisan legislation to ensure regulators around the world continue to share global swaps data to maintain the highest degree of transparency into over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets. The legislation was approved by the House Financial Services Committee yesterday by voice vote.
London Stock Exchange Group Plc Statement Re NYSE Euronext's European Clearing Strategy And Long Term Continuation Of Cash Equity Clearing With LCH.Clearnet

London Stock Exchange Group plc ("LSEG") notes today's announcement by NYSE Euronext regarding its European clearing strategy and LCH.Clearnet's subsequent announcement of confirmation of preliminary discussions with NYSE Euronext in respect of their clearing arrangements. LSEG notes: (i) confirmation of NYSE Euronext's intention to give 12 months termination notice to LCH.Clearnet in mid-2012 with respect to its current outsourcing arrangements with LCH.Clearnet for banking, guarantee and default management for NYSE Liffe in London; (ii) that the termination date for the clearing of NYSE Euronext's derivatives business currently cleared with LCH.Clearnet in Paris has been extended from June 2013 to the first quarter of 2014, subject to regulatory approval and finalization of precise timings with LCH.Clearnet SA; and (iii) NYSE Euronext's intention to negotiate a long term arrangement with LCH.Clearnet SA with respect to the clearing of NYSE Euronext's regulated cash markets.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) is publishing a weekly email containing simple, easy-to-read tables listing credit default swaps (CDS) contracts on the top 15 sovereign and corporate reference entities by net notional amount as well as the Top 10 volume movers, both corporate and sovereign, by percentage change based on the net notional amount registered in its Trade Information Warehouse for the week ending March 16, 2012, along with historical data.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has fined and banned two former directors of Cattles plc (Cattles) and its subsidiary Welcome Financial Services Limited (Welcome) for publishing misleading information to investors about the credit quality of Welcome’s loan book and acting without integrity in discharging their responsibilities. The FSA has also publicly censured Cattles and Welcome for publishing misleading information.
