• The volume of trading in all derivatives was 1.25 million instruments in June, the highest monthly trading volume in 2012.
• The volume of trading in all derivatives was 5.95 million instruments in January – June 2012.
• The number of open interest was 161.1 thousand at the end of June. 

Euroclear’s Global “Collateral Highway” To Boost Collateral Flows

Euroclear is embarking on a mission to create the first fully open global market infrastructure to source and mobilise collateral across borders. Euroclear’s global“Collateral Highway” will help market participants move securities from wherever they are held to serve as collateral for access to central bank liquidity, secured transactions such as repos and securities loans, and margins for CCPs and bi-laterally cleared OTC derivative trades.

Ian McCafferty Appointed To UK's Monetary Policy Committee

The Chancellor of      the Exchequer today announced that Ian McCafferty has been      appointed to succeed Adam Posen as an external member on the      Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). The appointment will take effect      on 1 September 2012.

According to the latest quarterly PwC IPO Watch Europe report concerning the number and the value of initial public offerings (IPO) on the key European exchanges, the Warsaw Stock Exchange once again ranked #1 in Europe by the number of IPOs. In Q2 2012, there were 33 public offerings on the WSE (including 5 IPOs on the Main Market and 28 IPOs on NewConnect), which represented more than 41 percent of all IPOs on European markets.

• The average number of trades per day was 13,809 (15,303), a decrease of 9.8 percent. The total number of trades was 289,996 (336,660) a decrease of 13.9 percent.
• The trading participant with the highest turnover was SEB with a turnover of EUR 823.0 (1,904.4) million.
• The most traded instrument was H&M B, with a turnover of EUR 145.9 (160.9) million, a decrease of 9.3 percent.

Ming Le Sports AG (ISIN: DE000A1MBEG8) joined the Prime Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB) on 6 July. The IPO comprised 503,790 shares (444,000 shares from a capital increase). The issue price was €13.00 and the initial listing price €13.20. The issue volume was €6.55 million.
