SEC Charges Company Officers And Penny Stock Promoters In Kickback And Market Manipulation Schemes
The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged several penny stock companies and their officers as well as three penny stock promoters involved in various stock schemes in which bribes and kickbacks were paid to hype microcap stocks and illegally generate stock sales.

FINRA Hearing Panel Fines Brookstone Securities $1 Million For Fraudulent Sales Of CMOs To Elderly - Full Restitution Of Over $1.6 Million Ordered To Customers - Firm's CEO And Broker Barred - Former Compliance Officer Barred As Principal
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced today that a FINRA hearing panel ruled that Brookstone Securities of Lakeland, FL, and the firm's Owner/CEO Antony Turbeville and one of the firm's brokers, Christopher Kline, made fraudulent sales of collateralized mortgage obligations (CMOs) to unsophisticated, elderly and retired investors. The panel fined Brookstone $1 million and ordered it to pay restitution of more than $1.6 million to customers, with $440,600 of that amount imposed jointly and severally with Turbeville, and the remaining $1,179,500 imposed jointly and severally with Kline.

DTCC Calls For Increased Public-Private Information Sharing To Protect The Capital Markets From Cyber-Attacks - DTCC Urges Restarting Federal Pilot Program That Targeted Cyber Espionage
DTCC testified before a Congressional subcommittee that federal agencies and the financial sector must expand information sharing on cyber-threats to more effectively protect the capital markets from attack. DTCC also called for restarting the Government Information Sharing Framework (GISF), a successful but now-defunct pilot program that targeted cyber espionage as part of this information sharing effort.

CME Group Volume Averaged 13.2 Million Contracts Per Day In May 2012, Up 24 Percent From April 2012
CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced that May 2012 volume averaged 13.2 million contracts per day, down 2 percent from May 2011, but up 24 percent from April 2012. Total volume for May was more than 291 million contracts, of which 85 percent was traded electronically.

ICE Reports 8% Increase In May Average Daily Futures Volume
IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of regulated global futures exchanges, clearing houses and over-the-counter (OTC) markets, reported volume for May 2012. Average daily volume (ADV) for ICE's futures markets was 1,544,072 contracts, up 8% from May 2011. Year-to-date through May 31, ADV across ICE's futures exchanges was 1,550,313 contracts, an increase of 3% compared to the first five months of 2011. Total May futures volume was 34 million contracts, up 13% from May 2011.
