New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority: Better Information For Investors As New Disclosure Documents Take Shape

Information for investors will now be provided in a format that is easier-to-understand and more accessible than before. The way that financial products are made available to the public has been overhauled under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (FMC Act). The first New Zealand financial products to be offered under the new regulations have started to appear on the ‘Disclose’ website this month.

CalPERS Investment Office Cuts Expenses For Five-Year Period, Tops Peer Benchmark In Cost Survey - Internal Management, Use Of Index Strategies Among Primary Contributors

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) today reported that annual ongoing costs for its investment operations have declined by approximately $90 million for the five-fiscal-year period from 2009-14. The System also reported that it was found to be 'cost-advantaged' in a CEM Benchmarking (CEM) survey, when measured against its peers.

U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission And Australian Prudential Regulation Authority Sign Memorandum Of Understanding To Enhance Supervision Of Cross-Border Regulated Firms

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that CFTC Chairman Tim Massad and Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) Chairman Wayne Byres have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding cooperation and the exchange of information in the supervision and oversight of regulated firms that operate on a cross-border basis in the United States and in Australia.

European ABSActivity in the European ABS market has picked up since the start of 2015. Primary issuance is notably higher this period and the ECB’s take up of ABS still remains weak, with the total of the ABSPP standing at €5.4bn since inception. Spreads have remained stable for the first quarter of the year, with the exception of the Greek ABS sector. -

Federal Reserve Board Requests Public Comment On Proposed Technical Changes To Regulation D

The Federal Reserve Board on Monday requested public comment on proposed amendments to Regulation D (Reserve Requirements of Depository Institutions) making technical changes to the calculation of interest payments on certain balances maintained by depository institutions at Federal Reserve Banks. The proposed amendments are a matter of prudent planning and have no implications for the near-term conduct of monetary policy.
