The Dubai Financial Services Authority Reminds Investors Of Their Obligations – Connected Person Disclosures

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) reminds shareholders of companies listed on Nasdaq Dubai of their disclosure obligations under the DIFC Markets Law and DFSA Markets Rules (the "Regulation"). When a shareholder acquires 5% or more of the voting shares of a company listed on Nasdaq Dubai, such person is a Connected Person under DFSA administered laws and Rules. The obligations apply to shareholders, whether they are natural or legal persons.

FSB Publishes Fourth EDTF Report On Bank Risk Disclosures

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) today published two reports and a statement from the Enhanced Disclosure Task Force (EDTF). The 2015 Progress Report on Implementation of the EDTF Principles and Recommendations is the EDTF’s fourth report and third progress report on implementation of the EDTF recommendations; it covers 40 global or domestic systemically important banks. The FSB also published an EDTF report on the Impact of Expected Credit Loss Approaches on Bank Risk Disclosures which highlights issues with the implementation of new accounting standards on expected credit loss (ECL). Furthermore, the EDTF provided a statement on the treatment of emergency liquidity provision under the EDTF disclosure recommendations.

Dai-Ichi Life Invests In First Microfinance Bonds Issued By The EBRD For Institutional Investor

The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited (the “Company”; President: Koichiro Watanabe) has purchased $100 million of Microfinance bonds issued by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”), the international financial institution that invests in projects in 36 countries, from central Europe to central Asia and the southern and eastern Mediterranean, becoming the sole investor in the bond that supports EBRD’s funding to micro or small-sized enterprises (“MSEs”).

Japan's Securities And Exchange Surveillance Commission: Recommendation For Administrative Monetary Penalty Payment Order For Violation Of Disclosure Requirements By Toshiba Corporation

1. Contents of the Recommendation
The Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission, today, made a recommendation to the Prime Minister and the Commissioner of the Financial Services Agency that an administrative monetary penalty payment order be issued in regard to misstatements of financial reports on material issues by TOSHIBA CORPORATION (the "Company") pursuant to Article 20(1) of the Act for Establishment of the Financial Services Agency. This recommendation is based on the findings of inspections focusing on false statements with regard to disclosure statements produced by the Company, whereby the following violations of the laws and ordinances were identified.

Shanghai Stock Exchange, Shenzhen Stock Exchange, China Financial Futures Exchange Issue Rules For Circuit Breaker Mechanism For Index

On December 4, as approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE), the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) and the China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) officially issued the rules for the index circuit breaker, which will come into effect on January 1, 2016. The circuit breaker mechanism for index is an important institutional arrangement to further improve the trading mechanism on China’s securities and futures market, safeguard the market order, protect the rights and interests of investors and promote the long-term, stable and healthy development of the capital market.

HKFE Announces Margin Rates For New Futures Contracts

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced the margin rates for the London Nickel, London Lead and London Tin mini futures that it will introduce on Monday, 14 December 2015.
