  • OpenFin Open-Sources Market Leading HTML5 Container Technology

    OpenFin, a fast-growing financial technology provider, today announced that for the first time it is open-sourcing its market-leading HTML5 container technology for financial desktops. The development aims to promote further community collaboration as OpenFin is being used by over 20 of the world's leading banks, buy-side firms and trading platforms. OpenFin also announced the formation of an industry advisory board, with member firms including Barclays, Citi, CME Group, ICAP, J.P. Morgan, REDI, RBS, Trading Technologies and Tullett Prebon, to guide the direction of both its open-source and enterprise offerings.

    General Atlantic, a leading global growth equity firm, today announced the promotions of Jörn Nikolay to managing director and Roni Elchahal, Andrew Ferrer, and Rajat Sood to principal. Mr. Nikolay leads the firm's Munich office. Mr. Elchahal is responsible for the firm's EMEA capital partnering effort based in London, and Mr. Ferrer and Mr. Sood are senior investment professionals in the firm's New York and Mumbai offices, respectively.   • Nasdaq To Acquire Chi-X Canada - Expands Equity Trading Beyond U.S. And Nordics

    Nasdaq (Nasdaq: NDAQ) today announced that it will acquire Chi-X Canada, an Alternative Trading System for Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Securities, from Chi-X Global.  The acquisition will provide Nasdaq with direct access to the Canadian equities market. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016, and be accretive to the company's earnings at closing, excluding transaction-related costs.

    Trading value in the equity market (BOVESPA segment) totaled BRL 120.88 billion in November compared with BRL 158.37 billion the previous month. Average daily trading value was BRL 6.36 billion, vis-à-vis BRL 7.54 billion in October. Total volume reached18,363,500 from 21,428,136 the previous month. Average daily volume was 966,500 (1,020,387 in October).
