EBA Publishes A Report On The Benchmarking Of Diversity Practices At European Union Level

The European Banking Authority (EBA) issued a benchmarking analysis of diversity practices at EU level showing that only a limited number of institutions have already adopted a diversity policy. In particular, the report highlights that the actual level of diversity in the composition of the management body in institutions differs significantly between Member States, namely regarding the gender diversity. The Authority calls on institutions and Member States to consider additional measures for promoting a more balanced representation of both genders. The report is based on data from 873 institutions from 29 EU and EEA Member States, and covers credit institutions of different sizes as well as investment firms.The EBA report on the benchmarking of diversity practices showed that the representation of women within the management body is still very low, with 13.6% in the management function and 18.9% in the supervisory function. -

SIX Swiss Exchange: Index Adjustments On The Occasion Of The Ordinary Index Review

The Management Committee of SIX Swiss Exchange has decided to make changes to SIX Swiss Exchange index baskets on the basis of a recommendation from the Index Commission and in compliance with the SMI®, SLI®, SPI® and SXI® index rules. The indices will be adjusted on 16 September 2016 after closing. The adjustment takes effect on 19 September 2016.

Statement By IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde: Proposes Appointment Of Mr. Tao Zhang As Deputy Managing Director

Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), announced today her proposal to appoint Mr. Tao Zhang as Deputy Managing Director, effective August 22, 2016. Mr. Zhang is currently Deputy Governor of the People's Bank of China (PBOC). He will succeed Mr. Min Zhu, who steps down on July 25 (see Press Release No. 16/297).
