I am delighted to be in Helsinki at this important conference on monetary policy and the future of Europe's monetary union. Today I would like to discuss the broad review of the Federal Reserve's monetary policy framework that my fellow policymakers and I are undertaking this year. We are examining the policy strategy, tools, and communication practices that we use to pursue our dual-mandate goals of maximum employment and price stability. In my remarks, I will describe the motivation for and scope of this review and discuss some of the events that are taking place. In our review, we are being transparent and open minded, and we are seeking perspectives from a broad range of interested individuals and groups, including academics, other specialists, and the public at large.

The Amman Stock Exchange Index Quarterly Review

Mr. Bassam Abu Abbas the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) said that the ASE has conducted the periodic quarterly review of the ASE index constituents in the purpose of ensuring that the ASE General Price Index reflects the market performance and the trading activity of the listed companies. By this rebalancing, the activity of listed companies in regard to trading during the last quarter has been reviewed. After that, the ASE has conducted its screening process for all listed companies using the full market capitalization of the companies and the number of trading days during the last quarter.

Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) announced today that it is reducing its trading commission fees starting 1st of July 2019 thus making ADX among the MENA region’s least expensive stock markets with regards to trading commissions. This initiative is designed to reduce costs on investors, build confidence, increase liquidity, as well as attract more investors into the Exchange.

Bank For International Settlements Setting Up Innovation Hub Centre In Singapore

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) welcomes the announcement by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) to establish an Innovation Hub Centre in Singapore. The Hub Centre in Singapore, along with Hub Centres in Basel and Hong Kong, is a key pillar in a new BIS Innovation Hub initiative to foster collaboration within the central banking community on FinTech issues.
